Italy - San Marino

Jun. 06, 1972 - Prime Minister Giulio Andreotti formed a government of the center. It was the first time since 10 years that the Socialists were excluded from an Italian government coalition. The 53-year-old Prime Minister presented his cabinet list to President Giovanno Leone after 22 days of negotiations. Besides Andreotti's Christian Democrats, who have been the keystone of every Italian Government, since the war, the coalition includes the Democratic Socialist and the Liberals, a free enterprise conservative group. The cabinet is composed of 17 Christian Democrats, 5 Democrats Socialist and four Liberals. A major change from previous cabinets was the substitutions of Giuseppe Medici in the place of Aldo Moro as foreign minister.
