Mar. 03, 1968 - London Bridge up (or down) for sale: Mr. Ivan Luckin, a member of the City of London's Court of Common Council and Mr.Harold King, City Engineer, leave for the United States on Saturday (March 9) to interview prospective purchasers of London Bridge and to answer any questions from those who may be interested but have not yet come forward. The London Bridge Plan is a gigantic jigsaw. 10, 000 pieces numbered and indexed for re-erection. The Corporation of London has given March 29th as the closing date for bids.
