Jackie Stewart, racing driver, wins British Grand Prix

Jul. 07, 1971 - Jackie Stewart wins the British Grand Prix at Silverstone: Jackie Stewart driving his Tyrrell Ford won the British Grand Prix in a record-breaking average speed of 130.48 miles an hour at Silverstone today. Second was Ronnie Peterson of Sweden, in a March Ford, and third Emerson Fittipaldi of Brazil driving a Lotus Ford. Stewart now leads the World Championship with 41 points.
