Feb. 02, 1956 - Sir Jacob Epstein prepares to work on group of Statuary for memorial at new TUC building: Sir Jacob Epstein the famous sculptor was to be seen at the new - nearly completed Trades Union Congress Headquarters Great Russell Street, London, this morning preparing to start work on the group of statuary which he has been commissioned to produce as a memorial to fallen trades unionists of two world wars. The statuary is to be produce from a 10 ton block of Roman stone on which Sir Jacob will work behind a specially constructed screen. The form the memorial will take has not as yet been disclosed.
