Sep. 09, 1958 - Jamaican Emigrants arrive. A party of 585 emigrants from Jamaica arrived at Newhaven (East Sussex) today. On his recent return to Jamaica after investigating the race riots in this country, Mr. Manley, the chief minister, asked Jamaicans not to go to Britain unless they had some skilled trade.
