Nov. 11, 1977 - Prime Minister Plants a tree: The Prime Minister Mr. James Callaghan planted an Oak tree on the site of a former Oak in Hyde Park today on behalf of the Tree Councils Tree planting work. The former tree was known as the Reformist Tree and was planted in the early 19th century, but was vandalised.
