1953 - Seven Arrive from Korea: Seven men arrived at the R.A.F station, Abingdon, Wiltshire this afternoon aboard a Hastings Ambulance aircraft. It was the end of their journey from Korea, where they had been interned by the North Koreans for two years and eight months until their release. They had travelled across Manchuria and Siberia to Moscow by train - and flew from Moscow to England. Photo shows Mr. Philipeas the war reporter seen with his wife - when he landed Abingdon Wiltshire today
