1958 - Anti Nuclear Rally in Tokyo. A mass rally attended by more than 6, 000 members of the general council of Japan Trade Unions, Japan against Atomic and Hydrogen bombs, National federation of student self - government associations and other affiliated organisations, was held at Hibiya Park, Tokyo, in protest against the use of Japan as a nuclear base. The rally approved a resolution against nuclear weapons which will be delivered to the governments of the U.S. Britain and the Soviet Union, The rally adopted the following declaration : In response to the wishes of the people of the world and the Soviet call, we demand that the U.S. and British governments immediately suspend nuclear tests and conclude an agreement banning such dangerous tests.
