Jul. 07, 1958 - Anti-A Bomb hike: Priests, farmers, housewives, students, and labourers, join in the 1, 600 mile pilgrimage on foot which was started by a Hiroshima priest and snowballed into a nationwide affair. End of the long journey will be Tokyo where the participants will attend the annual Anti A bomb rally scheduled to begin from August 12. When Atsushi Nishimoto, aged 32 left his Hiroshima home, he was alone, but by the time he reached Osaka City covering one third the distance, scores of supporters were waling by his side, each carrying placards demanding prohibition of the usage of Thermo-nuclear weapons.
