Jul. 18, 1958 - Going Too Far. This photograph taken by an amateur and which won first prize in a recent photo contest caused nationwide repercussion in Japan. The photographer - Takeo Ishibashi, a 38-year-old office worker in Nagoya city, was questioned by the police on suspicion of having violated the Railways Operations Law by asking three boys to pose under a bridge, possibly at the risk of their lives. Investigators learned that the photographer had his ten-year old son and two classmates pose on the bridge to catch their expression as a train passed over their heads. When the sensational picture appeared in the magazine, a flood of letters from readers voiced strong opposition against using juvenile as models for sensational pictures
