Jan. 01, 1963 - A great many lives have been lost by people being trapped in the upper rooms of the wooden homes Tokyo. The quick flaring wood leaves little time for firemen to put up their ladders and bring down old people and children who are too frightened to jump into their nets. Therefore special platforms of a steel have been attached to a steel boom which can be quickly raised to accommodate a number of people. This new apparatus is shown being operated at the display in Tokyo this week
