Apr. 29, 1963 - Emperor of Japan celebrates his 62nd birthday April 29th: Emperor Hirohito of Japan will be 62 years of age on April 29 and will receive birthday greetings from members of the Imperial family, and the poeple of Japan at his palace in Tokyo. The Emperor is a noted expert on marine life, and frequently visits the coast to gather specimens from the sea or amongst the rocks to add to his large collection. He was the discover of an hitherto unknown Japanese crab. He also wrote a book on the flora of Japan which was published last year and became a best seller.
