1963 - Emperor of Japan celebrates 62nd Birthday; Emperor Hirohito of Japan is 62 tomorrow (April 29th) and will receive birthday greetings from members of the Imperial family, and the people of Japan, at his Palace in Tokyo. The Emperor is a noted expert on marine life, and frequently visits the coast to gather specimens from the sea, or amongst the rocks to add to his large collection. He was the discoverer of a hithe unknown Japanese crab. He also wrote a book on the flora of Japan which was published last year and became a best seller.
