Nov. 11, 1964 - Sato becomes Prime Minister of Japan. Organised the Olympic Games It was announced in Tokyo this morning that Mr. Eisaku Sato is to succeed Mr. Hayato Ikeda as Prime Minister of Japan following the latter resignation because of ill health. It was Mr. Sato who, as Minister of State was responsible for organization of the 1964 Olympic Games in Tokyo. Mr. Sato is 63. Keystone Photo Shows: Mr. Eisaku Sato the new Prime Minister of Japan.
