1966 - Matchstick model of Parliament Buildings.: Mr. Kiyoshi Yamamoto, a 60 year old retired businessman, of Tokyo, is now completing the intricate tank of building a model of London's House of Parliament, from 50, 000 used matches. Since my childhood, said Mr. Yamamoto, I have always been enchanted with the beauty of the Parliament building. He got most of his knowledge of the building from the British Embassy in Tokyo and began his great task with the aid of photographs supplied by the Embassy. Most difficult part of the model, according to Mr. Yamamoto was Big Ben, on which he spent three months work. He has been debating whether to give the model to a museum, or send it to England. Photo shows Mr.Kiyoshi Yamamoto, putting the finishing touches to his model of the Houses of Parliament
