Jun. 06, 1970 - You can always get a drink in Tokyo; No one has tried to count the bars in Tokyo, figures varying from 60, 000 to 120, 000 and this picture shows only a tiny section of a street near Ginza, Tokyo's principal through fare. Advertising signs show there are over 60 bars, and the street is more than a dozen blocks long and there are two sides to the street. Also some bars are small, and six oust ers will fill it, others are large and have room for severeal dozen customers, Despite the large number of bars, there is very little drunkenness - the customers like to talk to the bar girls after him, and sometimes take a tape recording of his rambling statements which they play back to him next morning, so that he will feel ashamed it only happens in Japan
