1975 - Aquapolis The Floating City for Expo 75 in Okinawa. The unique floating city called Aquapolis built at Hiroshima for the International Ocean Exposition at Okinawa which opens on July 20, 1975, is ready to be towed to the island's Motobu Peninsula where it will serve as a pavillion for the six month long exposition. Work on Aquapolis commenced in October 1973, and weighs 15, 680 tons
