1973 - China Sends Goodwill Mission to Japan A high powered Chinese Mission has arrived in Tokyo for a month long visit aimed at developing Sino - Japanese relations which were normalized in September last year. Heading the 55 member delegation in Liao Cheng Chih, president of the China - Japan Friendship Association, who is regarded as one of Peking's foremost authorities on Japan. the 65 year old revolutionary was born in Tokyo, and is visiting the Japanese capital for the first time in 16 year.
