1972 - Prime Minister Sato Meets Japan's Hold-Out Soldier: Prime Minister Elsako Sato (right) gives Shoichi Yokoi a pat on the back when they met at Sato official residence in Tokyo. Yokoi hid in the jungles of Guam for 28 years rather than give himself up, as he still had his rifle entrusted to him by the Emperor of Japan. Now that his health has improved while in a Tokyo hospital, Yokoi is fit to return to his home in Nagoya which he left 31 years ago after being conscripted into the Japanese Imperial Army in 1941
