May 05, 1972 - Yokohama Port Festival attracts thousands of people.: The Yokohama Port Festival, which marks the 113th anniversary of its opening, was held, attracting 180, 000 people alongside the parade. Headed by mini-skirted baton girls, processions of participants in costumes, which Yokohama inhabitants wore come centuries ago, and 15 cars decorated with flowers, paraded through the main streets of Yokohama.
