Sep. 07, 1976 - Tokyo To have Women Mounted Police: Women's lib appears to have made some progress in Japan where the Metropolitan Police in Tokyo are training two young policewomen to be mounted cops at the government riding school in Setagaya, a district of Tokyo. The policewomen will commence their duties at the end of September, and will probably be assigned to control traffic from from the saddle at road crossings used by children going and coming from school.
