Jan. 01, 1977 - Pearl Button For The Pearly Kings And Queens From Japan: At the request of Lady Elwyn-Jones, wife of the Lord Chancellor, the Japanese Ambassador, H.E.Mr Tadao Kato, recently asked the Japan Trade Centre (Jetro) to contect button manufacturers in Japan to see whether real shell pearl buttons could be obtained for the London Pearly Kings and Queens, At a ceremony in the Japanese Embassy last night a token consignment was handed over as part of the 70lbs of the buttons which are on the way to England-as a gift from a Japanese company.
