Japanese drum and flute orchestra for logging competition

Oct. 10, 1970 - Tokyo Loggers show their skill; Tokyo's lumbermen who handle the logs which are shipped from the forests of northern Japan, Canada, and the Philippines hold an annual contest to decide who is the champion log walker. The prizes are usually bottles of rice wine. In the Competition held on one of Tokyo's canals, to the accompaniment of a Japanese drum and flute orchestra, the loggers do a variety of tricks while balancing on rolling logs dressed in old time workmen's uniforms. One logger carried his young son on his shoulders while he walked a log across the water
