Jazz boat outing leaving London for Margate
Jun. 06, 1959 - The Jazz Boats Leave for Margate. The popular pleasure steamers Royal Sovereign and Royal Daffodil - left Tower Pier this morning - with more than 3, 500 jazz fans aboard for their annual jazz-boat outing. The craft have been chartered - and playing aboard are twelve famous jazz bands. During the trip scenes are being made for the film Jazzboat - starring Anthony Newley.
