Jean Duane and daughter Carol, senders of shamrock

Mar. 17, 1964 - They Sent St. Patrick's Day Shamrock To H.M. The Queen. Irish Shamrock - specially flown from Dublin to London - was delivered this morning to H.M. the Queen - at Buckingham Palace -as a gesture of friendship in the name of many Irish people in Britain and overseas - to the Royal Family. The Shamrock included a special large spray - for the newly born baby Prince. The shamrock was sent at the instigation of 20 year old Mrs. Jean Duane a West End store assistant - who forwarded it in the name of her two year old daughter Carol. Mrs Duane and baby Carol live in Glazebury Road, West Kensington. Photo Shows: Mrs Jean Duane and her daughter Carol They sent Shamrock to Buckingham Palace
