Jean Marchand campaigning for mayor, Montreal, Canada
Oct. 22, 1970 - On October 25th the citizens of Montreal will go to the polls to elect a new mayor. Jean Drapeau will be running for mayor again and representing the Civic Party of Montreal in the election. Here is a picture of one of his opponents, Jean Marchand, Minister of Regional Economic Expansion, who had declared that the Political Action Front, which is fighting against the Civic Party of Montreal, is a facade of the Liberation Front in Quebec. Marchand clarified that his incomplete knowledge of the English language made him use the English world front (which can be translated as facade) while he meant to say that the Liberation Front in Quebec had the moral caution of the Political Action Front
