Nov. 22, 1957 - Socialist Leaders claim Damages for alleged Libel. Miss Jennie Nicholson - she wrote the Article: Mr. Aneurin Bevan M.P. the shadow Foreign Secretary Mr. Richard Crossman M.P. and Mr. Morgan Phillips Secretary of the Labour party appeared at the the High Court yesterday-- where they are Claiming damages from The Spectator alleging libel contained in an article by Miss Jennie Nicholson regarding when they attended the Italian Socialist conference in Venice Last February.The article alleges that Mr. Bevan filled himself like a tank with whisky.
