Jenny Rand, Wiener Library, Manchester Square, London

Mar. 03, 1957 - The Wiener Library Has To Move: The famous Wiener Library, founded by Dr Alfred Wiener as a weapon against Hitler, has to be removed from its premises at 19 Manchester Square, London, for a rebuilding scheme, and so far no suitable premises have been found. In 1954, Dr. Wiener, who is now 72, left Germany and established his library in Holland to counter Nazi propaganda. He transferred to London in 1939. The library has 40, 000 books.
