Jimmy Carter concedes presidential race to Reagan

Nov. 04, 1980 - Washington, DC, USA - President JIMMY CARTER, surrounded by his wife, ROSALYNN CARTER, to right of the president, and daughter AMY CARTER (R) makes an appearance in Washington this evening before campaign workers to concede defeat to Republican nominee and thus lose the Presidency to the republicans. Reagan won the election in a landslide and is now leading with more than 450 electorial votes. The Republicans also made big gains in the US Senate and House of Representatives with possible control of the Senate. Back right is JESSE JACKSON
