Jimmy Carter visits freed hostages, Wiesbaden
January 22, 1981 - Wiesbaden, Germany - After 444 days of captivity the 52 American hostages were freed from Iran and taken to Germany. While in a military hospital in Wiesbaden, they were given medical exams, telephoned their families and visited by the former US-President JIMMY CARTER, left, former Vice President WALTER MONDALE, partial view behind Carter, German Chancellor HELMUT SCHMIDT, right, and more. The pleased Americans will have haircuts, sleep and stay for a few days to acclimatise from their terrible time during captivity
