Joan Harland, Dairy Princess of England and Wales

Aug. 28, 1968 - Dairy Princess of England and Wales to meet the Premier of Canada: Joan Harland (20), of Wetherby, Yorkshire, Dairy Princess of England and Wales, leaves by air today for Canada. She will spend three weeks touring in Ontario and Quebec, and three days sightseeing in New York. Whilst in Canada she will participate in the selection of the Canadian Dairy Princess competition, appear on radio and television, attend banquets arrangee in her honour, visit State Fairs and spend weekends at Niagara Falls and on dairy farms. At the end of her Canadian tour she will visit Ottawa and will be received by the Prime Minister of Canada, the Rt. Hon.Pierre Trudeau. Joan Harland has taken the place of Dairy Queen, Susan Furnival for this visit. Susan Furnival was unable to accept the tour due to a kidney infection.
