Joel Brand and Reinhard Strecker, Eichmann exhibition

Feb. 02, 1961 - Crown witness in Eichmann trial visited document exhibition in Munich: The Centre of Political Students groups at the Munich University opened on 10 February in Munich an exhibition, together with the Berlin student Reinhard Strecker, showing photographs of original documents of sentences passed by former Nazi judges who now work as judges in West Germany. Reinhard Strecker had collected this material. Photo shows Strecker (R) and Joel Brand during the opening of the exhibition. Joel Brand will be the crown witness of the Israeli public prosecution in the coming trial of former SS leader Adolf Eichmann in Jerusalem. Brand was a leading member of the Jewish underground movement in Hungary. And together with Dr Kastner, he negotiated with Eichmann in Budapest. At the time, Eichmann promised to free a million Jews for the supply of 10, 000 lorries
