1961 - Main witness of the Israeli Public Prosecution in the Adolf Eichmann trial which will take place on April 4th, 1961 in Jerusalem, is Joel Brand (picture) who was born in 1906 in Naszod-Siebenburgen. During World War II he was a leading member of the Jewish underground movement in Hungary. He organised the secret emigration of Jews from Hungary and other eastern countries. He had to deal with Adolf Eichmann for setting free Jews from the concentration camps
