Johann Nepomuk David, Austrian composer, 80th birthday

Nov. 30, 1975 - 80th Birthday of composer Johann Nepomuk David: November 30th 1975 will be the 80th birthday of Austrian composer Johann Nepomuk David (picture). Born 1895 in Eferding, he became a teacher at the conservatory at Leipzig in 1934. from 1942 until 1945 he was the director of that institute, after that he went to Salzburg, where he became a teacher at the Mozarteum. From 1943 to 1960 he taught composition at the conservatory in Stuttgart, where he still lives. Johann Nepomuk David composed symphonies, trios for strings, solo sonatas, motets for choirs, chorales, fugues, preludes, Chaconnes, Ricercaro etc
