Oct. 25, 1975 - 25.10.1975 150th Birthday of Johann Strauss II - On October 25th 1975 it will be 150 years ago that the Austrian composer Johann Strauss II was born. The Son of Johann Strauss I, the originator of the Vienna dance music, established a dance orchestra in 1844 which he joined with his father's orchestra after the latter had died in 1849. He went on long tours but entrusted the orchestra to his two brothers, Joseph and Edward in 1863
