Nov. 11, 1975 - John Aspinall Punched at Funeral of Friend. John Aspinall, one time gambler and now the owner of a private zoo was punched today at the memorial of his friend Dominic Elwes by a cousin of Elwes Mr. Eremyane Rodd. Mr. Rodd rushed up to Mr. Aspinall after the service at which Mr. Aspinall had just delivered a speech and punched him on the jaw, Mr. Rodd then stormed off saying That's what I think of your bloody speech, Aspinall'. 350 relatives and friends were at the Requiem Mass which was for Mr. Elwes who died in September from an overdose of barbiturates, the memorial service was held a the Farm Street Jesuits Church in Mayfair, London.
