Jan. 09 Things looking up for down under's Ex-PM. The former Prime Minister of Australia, Mr. John Gorton - and present Defence Minister - visited the Military Vehicles Engineering Establishment at Chertsey Lane, Chobham. Mr. Gorton was at the base for just over an hour during which time he was shown a drive-past demonstration of tracked armoured and wheeled vehicles. After the demonstration, Mr. Gorton climbed into the Army's latest high-speed armoured vehicle, the Scorpion and drove it around. He also inspected the Chieftain tank, and was photographed in a Fox combat track reconnaisance vehicle
