John Newcombe, tennis player, to star in film
Jun. 26, 1973 - Tennis star John Newcombe to play lead in new film ? International tennis star John Newcombe has been signed to play the lead in a new film, Game Set and Murder, to be shot in Australia in December. This feature length film in colour and wide screen is based on the novel of the same name by prize winning Australian author Dick Wordley. In the story, Newcombe is called upon to play a sensous lover, a cool cowboy and tennis. Keystone Photos Shows: Instead of appearing at Wimbledon, John Newcombe is pictured at a Press Conference in London today, with Libby Blackett, production executive of the Frank Brittain Production Company, who picked him for the part in the film.
