John Stonehouse in TV usage detector van

Oct. 10, 1969 - Broadcasting receiving Licences and Anti-Evasion campaign.: Mr. John Stonehouse, MP, Minister for posts and Telecommunications, today launched a campaign designed to bring about a drastic reduction in an estimated number of 1, 200, 000 householders still evading payment for television receiving licences. The campaign, said Mr. Stonehouse would involve the biggest ever concentration of detector vans operating van will be backed up by press television and radio publicity.
