Jul. 07, 1970 - Sultan Of Muscat And Oman Seeks Refuge In Britain: The Ruler of Muscat and Oman, Sultan Said bin Taimur, 60, was taking refuge in Britain last night after being overthrown in a palace coup engineered by his son, Sheikh Qabis bin Said. The Sultan was flown to Britain on Saturday in an R.A.F. plane. He was suffering from light gunshot wounds, received in a palace scuffle.
