Dec. 12, 1956 - One Year After The Disastrous Lewisham Rail Crash - Josephine Is Knitting For Her First Baby.. Time - and the surgeons - are great healers - but for Mrs. Ken (Josephine) Taylor the night of December 4th. 1957 - will never be forgotten Mrs. Taylor was passenger on the train that crashed in the dense fog at Lewisham - on that night of horror tragedy - pain and heroism. Mrs Taylor's injured were serious - She may well have lost her life or her legs entirely.. Now, in spite of the surgeon's skill she is left with terrible scrs - and her right leg is an inch shorter than the left. Now she is recovering - Mrs. Taylor spends most of her spare time knitting for the arrival of her firs baby - Next March. but December 4th. will always be a day of memories - in the Taylor home in South East London.
