Jun. 24, 1953 - Midsummer Madness - Sculptures on Exhibition In Battersea Pleasure Gardens A Sculpture competition in which students from all over Britain were asked to submit their conception of Midsummer Eve was held yesterday. Twenty-one pieces are now on show at the exhibition in the Battersea Pleasure Gardens. Photo shows Miss Josephine Ward, age 24, repairing her entry Invocation which was damaged in transit. She worked hard on the damaged piece and was rewarded by winning the second prize
