Joy Black of Dumfries wins Miss Great Britain title
Aug. 08, 1962 - Farmer's wife wins Miss Great Britain Title: Lovely 24 year old Mrs Joy Black, wife of Ian Black of White Yard Farm, Lochfoot, Dumfries, Scotland was yesterday judged winner of the Miss Great Britain title at Morecambe, Lancs. With the title goes a cheque for £1, 000. Six months ago Mrs. Black lost interest in beauty contests when her two year old son MacGregor was killed in a shooting accident on their farm.
