Julian Hodgson plays chess opponents, City of London

Sep. 09, 1976 - 13-Year-Old Chess Champion Challenges 20 Opponents: Julian Hodgson, the youngest-ever amateur chess champion, today challenged 20 invited opponents from the City of London and Fleet Street in a simultaneous match at the Livery Hall of the Guildhall in the City. Competitors in the match include representatives of banks, insurance companies, the Stock Exchange, and National Newspapers. Julian is one of the youngest British players to take on a large number of opponents at the same time.
