Jan 01, 1969 - Milan, Italy - In Search of Gregory, a sophisticated romantic comedy, stars JULIE CHRISTIE as Catherine, a sensuous and independent beauty, with Michael Sarrazin in the title role as Gregory, the elusive young American to whom she is magnetically attracted, and John Hurt as Daniel, her strange and reclusive young brother who is determined that her search shall be in vain. The Italian cast of this Universal/Vic/Vera Anglo Italian co-production is headed by Adolfo Celi as Catherine's playboy financier father and Paola Pitagora as Nicole, her young and beautiful prospective step-mother. The screenplay, from an original novel by Lucile Laks, is written by Tonino Guerro and Lucile Lake, and the film, the first to be directed by well-known stage producer Peter Wood, is being photographed in Wide Screen Technicolor entirely on location in Switzerland, France and Italy.
