June Fletcher rehearses for Cinderella at home in Leeds
Feb. 28 June's Big Break - Makes Her A Rather Sad Girl: Pretty June Fletcher waited five years for her big break - and when it came - it made her one of the saddest girls in show business. For June will spend her first ever Christmas away from home - playing Cinderella at the Theatre Royal, Norwich. As she was helping her Mum with the household chores, June (19) said It was the biggest break of my life to land the star role in Cinderella - but somehow or other I have always managed to work it so that I was playing in leads - my home town, at Christmas time - I shall feel like a real Cinderella so far from home this year. Since she left school June has concentrated on developing her personality as a raucous flapper girl of the roaring twenties - she appeared several times on TV in numbers such as the Charleston and the Black Bottom'.
