Jutta Peters with photographer, defamation case, Germany

Dec. 12, 1952 - Caused Doctor to be sent to Siberia for 25 years. No appeals against her own 4 1/2 year sentence.: When Jutta Peters came to Berlin in 1943 to join a private clinic owned by Doctor Peter Steyer - the latter fell in love with his new blonde nurse. The romance did not last long, however, and in revenge Jutta Peters decided she would get the clinic for herself and denounced her ex-lover as a Nazi to the French and American authorities. The Allied Leaders refused to take action as the allegations were unjustified. Undaunted Jutte Peters went to the Russian State Security Service while Steyer was lecturing at a hospital in East Berlin. He was tried and sentenced to 25 years in Siberia and Jutta Peters achieved her ambition and became owner of the clinic. Her crime caught up with her and in February this year she was tried and convicted by a German court to 4 1/2 years in prison, and five years indination and loss of civil rights. Now she is appealing and is trying to put the blame on another doctor who died last year. Photo shows Jutta Peters talks with one of the photographers during the appeal and asks him not to use photograph in connection with the case
