Karl Mattes demonstrates car safety device, Frankfurt
Sep. 09, 1957 - A new safety gadget for cars against car thieves was shown yesterday (Sept. 9, 1957) to the Frankfurt police by the Frankfurt engineer Karl Mattes. The safety device consists of a universal outside switch, which is safeguarded against foul play and guards the doors, hoods, steering wheel and ignition.
