Karl Mattes demonstrates car safety device, Frankfurt

Sep. 09, 1957 - A new safety gadget for cars against car thieves was shown yesterday (Sept. 9, 1957) to the Frankfurt police by the Frankfurt engineer Karl Mattes. The safety device consists of a universal outside switch, which is safeguarded against foul play and guards the doors, hoods, steering wheel and ignition. Photo shows the inventor during the demonstration of his safety device against car thieves
