For some decades, he has been one of the most celebrated lyrical tenors of German tongue. Born in Germersheim (Rhine-Pfalz), he spent most of his youth in Bavaria and went to the conservatory in Nuremberg, later studying in Munich. Besides in this city and in Berlin, where he was engaged to the German Opera House, he has sung in Vienna, Holland, Belgium, Switzerland and France.
