Karl Wolff on trial for war crimes, Munich

Jul. 07, 1964 - Charged with complicity in the deaths of 300 000 Jews is the former SS General and short co worker of Himmler, Karl Wolff (64). Surprised on January 17th he was arrested and since that day he is in prison on remand. On July 13th the proceedings against Wolff begin in Munich. In March 1945 the former SS-General established contact with the US secret service in order to cause an untimely capitulation of the German troops in Italy. For that reason he was never arraigned before an allied military tribunal. OPS The former SS General Karl Wolff, during the Third Reich and after his imprisonment
